About Oval House

At Oval House, Music fills the air and all our rooms have a musical theme.

We find the soothing effect of Music helps our guests to have a restful break.

Oval House is situated near the centre of the historic town of Brampton, set back from the road with generous parking at the front on a private forecourt. The house itself was built in 1749 for one Edward Atkinson on land purchased from the Earl of Carlisle. At a Subsequent sale in 1791, the house was sold for £350 and included the right to sit in Pew 37 in Brampton Church and peat extraction rights on the Common! While today it has all the modern comforts, it still retains its Georgian character, charm and warmth.

The Proprietor Jane Streames (seated at the breakfast table) bids you -
